From Mayland’s modest beginning 50+ years ago, Mayland has grown into a nationally recognized community college. It offers hands-on experience with some of the state’s most advanced technologies and training facilities, plus the convenience of more than100 programs, three locations, seated, online and hybrid class options, and the attention that comes with small class sizes. Mayland shapes its curriculum with the needs of our local communities in mind. Affordable tuition rates keep higher education accessible for local residents which results in the majority of our graduates staying in the communities. These factors along with the college’s recent revitalization efforts combine to make Mayland a true engine of the local area’s workforce and economy within the Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties.
