“I’m incredibly excited for this event and the opportunity to connect with so many inspiring people who share a similar journey, while also honoring the incredible teachers who make a difference every day at community colleges across the great state of North Carolina,” Matter said. “As a proud community college alumna, I know firsthand the determination, hard work, and resilience it takes to turn big dreams into reality, and my experience at Wake Tech helped shape that journey. This community is full of remarkable stories, and I am thrilled to celebrate the incredible teachers and students within the NC Community College System. Their hard work and dedication inspire us all, and I look forward to honoring their impact and achievements.”
The event, co-hosted by the NC Community College System, the State Board of Community Colleges, and the NC Community Colleges Foundation, will gather more than 200 VIPs from business, education, and government sectors to honor the pinnacle of academic achievement and the highest levels of collaboration among community college students, faculty, staff, and business partners.
