State Board of Community Colleges to Meet

RALEIGH – The State Board of Community Colleges will hold its regularly scheduled meeting Thursday and Friday, May 14 and 15, 2015 in Raleigh.

The Board will convene Thursday at 12 p.m. for a discussion of Align4NCWorks, the NC Community Colleges strategic initiative to scale up best practices in collaborative workforce development.  The discussion will include workforce partners from the NC Departments of Commerce and Public Instruction.

Committee meetings begin at 1:30 p.m.  The Programs Committee will review the 2014 licensure passing rates for community college nursing students.  The Finance Committee will take action on various contracts and service agreements.  The Strategic Planning Committee will take action on the Align4NCWorks Strategic Plan.

The full Board will convene Friday at 9 a.m.  All meetings are open to the public and will take place at the NC Community College System Office, 200 W. Jones Street in Raleigh.
