Shakyra Davis

Shakyra Davis knows what she wanted and chased after it starting at the age of 13.  One of the hardest challenges she has faced was transitioning from middle school to Rutherford Early College.  She wanted the challenge and has learned how to balance high school classes, college classes, and participate in athletics while still finding the time to volunteer at the hospital and keep a social life.  Isothermal Community College’s environment forced her to grow up quickly while providing opportunities to become well-rounded, outgoing and focused. 

Her dedicated instructors have given her the tools necessary to be in control of her educational experiences and her busy life while tutoring her peers and serving as captain of the basketball team.  Davis is excited to continue her education at Campbell University to study pre-med and is receiving a full athletic scholarship to attend.
