Sarah Wagoner

Attending Surry Community College has been the best choice I could have made. After graduating from high school, I was not yet sure of my future path or ready to leave home. These last two years at Surry have instilled a confidence in me that will continue pushing me to strive for my goals. The feeling of community at this school, with the motivating instructors and supportive staff, has encouraged me to explore my passions both inside and outside the classroom.

Through my time working as both a Student Ambassador and a Writing Tutor, I have participated in inspiring cultural events, made lasting friendships and connections, and helped advance others on their success paths. These experiences have led me to choose English as my field of study. From giving speeches in my classes to helping lead orientation, I have been pushed outside of my comfort zone, and for that I am grateful because I have realized I am capable of more than I knew. Because of my time at Surry Community College, I am more outgoing, excited by new challenges, and ready to embrace my future.
