Introducing the New Chief Advancement Officer for NC Community Colleges, D’Andre Esposito

Raleigh, N.C. – The North Carolina Community Colleges Foundation (Foundation) is pleased to announce D’Andre S. Esposito as the new Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) for North Carolina Community Colleges.
This is a new, full-time position at the Foundation. The CAO is charged with leading the transformation of the Foundation to a robust and proactive fundraising partner with the NC State Board of Community Colleges (State Board) and the NC Community College System Office (System), which supports 58 community colleges serving 600,000 students.
As CAO, Esposito will work closely with the Foundation’s executive director, Katie Loovis, to build a world class advancement office with all major development functions, including annual giving, planned giving, major gifts, event sponsorships, and in-kind donations. Further, Esposito will be a key driver in the final design and execution of a new, multi-year national campaign (Campaign for North Carolina Community Colleges). Esposito will focus on building relationships with national and multinational corporations and private foundations, and advance the reputation of North Carolina as a state of choice for innovative, statewide public-private partnerships in workforce development.
“This is a transformational moment for our Foundation and North Carolina Community Colleges,” said System President and Foundation Board Secretary Dr. Jeff Cox. “D’Andre Esposito is a talented leader and fundraiser with a powerful personal story. We are thrilled to welcome him as our Foundation’s first Chief Advancement Officer and excited to work with him as we deepen national relationships, accelerate innovation and student success, and secure critical private resources for NC Community Colleges.”
Esposito brings more than ten years of nonprofit experience in fundraising, program development, marketing, and relationship building with corporations and foundations. As a community college graduate, he has a deep appreciation for the transformative power of accessible education and credits his career trajectory to the opportunities provided by the community college system. Prior to joining the Foundation, Esposito led fundraising for First Tee-Triangle (NC) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bristol (CT), advancing programs that provide character development and life skills to at-risk youth and financially disadvantaged families.
“I am deeply honored to step into this role and continue serving communities across North Carolina through the Foundation,” said Esposito. “I believe in the power of community colleges to change lives, and I look forward to working with the Foundation, System, and State Board to build on their incredible progress.”
The CAO search was conducted by moss+ross, a Triangle-based firm that provides a wide range of consulting services for North Carolina nonprofits. Esposito started on February 18, 2025.
