Foundation Board Welcomes New Members, Appoints Officers
RALEIGH – The North Carolina Community College System Foundation welcomes Donny Hicks, George Baldwin, Kirk Bradley and Stuart Powell as Board Members. The four new, at-large members will serve four-year terms.
Donny Hicks, Executive Director of Gaston County Economic Development Corporations; George Baldwin, Managing Director of Government Relations and Sustainability with PSNC Energy; Kirk Bradley, President at Lee-Moore Capital Company; and Stuart Powell, Vice President of Insurance Operations & Technical Affairs with the Cary-based Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina, were all appointed during the Foundation Board’s July meeting.
The Foundation Board also elected new leadership during the meeting. Bill Naumann, retired CEO of Hatteras Yachts, will serve as Chair; Crystal Morphis, CEO of Creative Economic Development Consulting, LLC, as Vice Chair; and Jim Bryan, East Region Executive Vice President of First Citizens Bank, as Treasurer. Each will serve a term of two years.
The NC Community Colleges Foundation Board is comprised of 27 community and business leaders from across the state with its next meeting scheduled for October. The North Carolina Community College System Foundation is a non-profit foundation working to enhance the capacity of the state’s community colleges as well as increase public advocacy, encourage innovation, recognize excellence and build leadership. The Foundation also supports scholarship opportunities for student excellence and in high-priority programs.
