Emily Furey-West

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska Emily West-Furey at the age of 19 moved to Jacksonville, North Carolina in 2010 with her husband.  For the next 5 years, she devoted her time to building and focusing on a family and raising her daughter while her husband was deployed.  In 2015 Fuery-West decided it was time to go back to college and enrolled at Costal Carolina Community College.

 Finding she had a passion for learning she has continued taking classed full-time and has made plans to continue her studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in the Fall of 2017.  With a passion for Criminology, she believes this field is where she will excel and will someday be able to help and give back to her community.  Without Coastal CCC’s excellent student services personnel, faculty and staff she doesn’t think could have made her college dream a success.
