2024 N.C. State Fair Apprentice Contests

ApprenticeshipNC, the State Apprenticeship Agency housed under the North Carolina Community College System, will host the 2024 N.C. State Fair Apprentice Contests October 21-25, 2024. These contests are an opportunity for Masonry, Electrical, Plumbing, and HV/AC-R Registered Apprentices and Carpentry Pre-Apprentices from across the state to test their skills and knowledge, win prizes, and make lasting connections with fellow tradespeople.

70th Annual Masonry Apprentice Contest

  • Contest: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 
  • Awards to be presented at 1:30 p.m.

39th Annual Electrical Apprentice Contest

• Date: October 23, 2024
• Time: Begins at 8:00 a.m., awards to be presented at 2:30 p.m. 

38th Annual Carpentry Pre-Apprentice Contest

• Date: October 24, 2024
• Time: Begins at 9:00 a.m., awards to be presented at 2:30 p.m.

20th Annual HVAC-R Apprentice Contest

• Date: October 25, 2024
• Time: Begins at 9:00 a.m., awards to be presented at 3:30 p.m.

37th Annual Plumbing Apprentice Contest

• Date: October 25, 2024
• Time: Begins at 9:00 a.m., awards to be presented at 3:00 p.m.

Apprentice Contest registration is open 8:00 a.m. August 1, 2024, through 11:59 p.m. September 6, 2024.
