In this interactive session, Dr. Nachman will orient attendees with the structural issues that autistic community college students face in their educational pursuits and how faculty members can be well primed to support their academic success and provide a fruitful experience. Drawing on research and practice, including some of his own work, Dr. Nachman will enable attendees to glean actionable recommendations on how they can create more inclusive classroom experiences for both their autistic learners and all students. Throughout, attendees will engage in reflections and discussions about the ways they envision making positive changes to their courses with autistic students in mind.
