New to the System - Career and College Promise (CCP) Pathway
On February 21, 2025, the State Board of Community Colleges approved the following new Career and College Promise (CCP) Pathway:
Career and College Promise Career and College Ready Pathway
Leading to either a CCP Transfer Pathway or CTE Pathway (P9099A)
Effective Term: Summer 2025
Per Section 1D SBCCC 400.11(e), “Academic credits earned through Career and College Promise shall enable students who continue into postsecondary education after graduating from high school to complete a postsecondary credential in less time than would normally be required.” This section further states, “High school students enrolled in a College Transfer Pathway or a Career and Technical Education Pathway may not enroll in developmental education courses, but may enroll in supplemental courses. For the purposes of this section, the phrase ‘supplemental courses”’ shall have the same meaning as in 1D SBCCC 400.8(b)(1).”
This memo confirms that all courses beginning with the prefix ENG and MAT included in the P9099A pathway meet the definition of supplemental courses as defined in 1D SBCCC 400.8(b)(1). Colleges fully implementing this new pathway as early adopters during the summer 2025 semester may retain this memo for compliance purposes. As we approach the full implementation of the Developmental Education Alignment Project (DEAP) in Fall 2025, we may choose to initiate a rulemaking process to update Code to align language with the new DEAP framework.
An outline of the specific curriculum standard for the new pathway is attached for your convenience. You may view all curriculum standards by visiting the Academic Programs website at:
