SUBJECT: Amendment of 1D SBCCC 800.4 – State or Industry Recognized Credentials On October 15, 2021, the State Board of Community Colleges voted to amend 1D SBCCC 800.4 – State or Industry Recognized Credentials. The rule currently addresses the Curriculum Course Review Committee’s (CCRC) authority to approve credit for prior learning standards for State or Industry Recognized Credentials. The amendment would add continuing education courses, certifications, and licensures to the courses for which credit for prior learning could be approved.
The adoption will be effective November 1, 2021. The new title will be published on the NC Community College System’s website, www.nccommunitycolleges.edu/sbcccode. For your convenience, a copy of the rule in its final form is attached to this memorandum.
