Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a closelyrelated field from a regionally accredited university or a Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited university with 18 graduate hours in Information Technology, Computer Science
- Three years’ experience in academics and assessment in a community college or university
- Academic advising experience in a college or university setting
- Understand and be committed to the unique nature and role of Brunswick Community College and the community it serves
- Demonstrates excellent oral & written communication skills
- A commitment to professional excellence
- Ability to work with diverse faculty/student population and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Current industry-recognized certifications (i.e.: MCSC, Security +, Cisco, Net +, etc.)
- Programming experience with language including: Java, Python, C++, VB.net, C#, etc.
- Experience in teaching computer science, database, or cyber security in any of the following formats: teaching seated and online courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars
Position Description
The Director of Information Technology serves as a faculty leader and faculty member with administrative oversight for the Information Technology (IT) programs on a variety of student, faculty, budget, planning, and personnel issues found within the Professional & Technical Division. The Director is responsible for supervising all IT degree and certificate programs. Administrative oversight includes the coordination and development of long and short-term planning for IT program offerings, course scheduling, evaluating and giving feedback to full-time and adjunct faculty on instructional performance, development of professional development initiatives, as well as institutional policy and procedures. As a faculty member, the Director performs the instructional and reporting expectations of faculty including appropriate course loads and additional responsibilities.
