- Your connection to community colleges? I’ve worked in postsecondary education for
20 years, including working at a community college in Ohio in advising and student
services and as an instructor for first-year student success courses. I also spent four
years leading holistic student support redesign efforts for Achieving the Dream, a
national nonprofit supporting community college transformation. - What do you love most about the NC Community College System? Being raised in
North Carolina and with extended family still based in my mom’s small hometown in
southeastern NC, I care deeply about the ability for communities across the state to
thrive. I see the NC Community College System as a core part of ensuring economic
mobility and opportunity for communities and individuals in this state that I love. - A fun fact about you? I have two kids (10 years old and 4 years old) and live in Chapel
Hill in a house across the street from mom—a dream come true!
