About the Event

Join us for the 2025 Immersive Learning Conference, a unique opportunity to explore how Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Extended Reality (XR) are transforming Biotechnology education. Hosted by the NC Community College System Office, this three-day event will bring together educators, staff, and leaders to collaborate and innovate within the evolving field of biotechnology.

Who Should Apply?

This conference is designed for faculty, staff, and leadership across the NC Community College System with a focus on Biotechnology or related CTE trades. Attendance is limited due to the venue size and to ensure a diverse and inclusive representation of disciplines and colleges statewide

  • Seats are limited! Attendees will be selected by the System Office to ensure broad representation and maximize collaboration across institutions.

Call for Proposals

We invite faculty and staff and vendors to showcase innovative uses of immersive technologies in Biotechnology education. Whether it’s a VR lab simulation, an AR project, or an XR application in workforce training, we want to hear from you!

Proposal Guidelines:

  • Presentations should demonstrate the integration of immersive technologies in Biotechnology or related CTE programs.
  • Priority will be given to proposals from NC community colleges, though external submissions are welcome.

Attendee Application

Faculty, staff, and leadership across NC Community Colleges are invited to apply for this event. Selected participants will receive free registration, lodging, and meals at the Caraway Conference Center. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation.

 

Funding Support

This conference is funded through Perkins Leadership Funds, covering registration, lodging, and meals for attendees.
